National POW/MIA Recognition Day also observed on Sept. 1
Join Card Lock® Company in celebrating the birthdays of our U.S. Air Force and U.S. Air National Guard and National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
Friday, September 18, 2020 marks the 73rd birthday for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Air National Guard, and commemorates the day in 1947 when the Air Force was officially separated from the U. S. Army by lawmakers who believed that it needed to be made into its own separate entity. Before then, the U.S. Air Force was a part of the Army and was known as the Army Air Force.
The United States™ National POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed across the nation on the third Friday of September each year, which falls on September 18, 2020.
Americans take the time to remember the families and those who were prisoners of war (POW) and those who are missing in action (MIA).
Founded in the 1940s to help our veterans after World War II, Card Lock® Company is an avid supporter of our military and their families, past and present.
