Veteran’s Day and Card Lock Company

This Wednesday, November 11 is much more than just another day on the calendar for us at Card Lock Company. Specifically, this Veterans Day is an opportunity for us all to honor those who served our country, whether it was in war times or peace.

Originally dubbed Armistice Day to mark the end of World War I and those who served in “the war to end all wars,” the day has evolved over the years as America became involved in more international conflicts. Veterans Day as we know it was formally signed into law by President Gerald Ford in 1978. Similar to its roots when it was originally established, Veterans Day still takes place on the eleventh day of the eleventh month. This date symbolizes the day the Allies and Germany agreed to their truce to end World War I.

Card Lock’s Support for Our Veterans

Card Lock Company was founded by veterans, and our business was initially built around servicing veterans. In fact, we originally invented the key card specifically for VFW and social halls – places veterans returning home from war could seek out as safe and secure places to gather. We’re always proud to honor our nation’s veterans not just on Veterans Day, but every day. We hope you can join us by taking the time this November 11 to reflect on the sacrifices that veterans have made for us, our country and our freedoms.
Card Lock Company’s business was founded on the premise of helping veterans, and we’ll never lose sight in honoring and celebrating them for all they’ve done.

At Card Lock, our commitment to honoring and supporting those who served and sacrificed for our country runs deep. Founded in the 1940s by veterans to provide security solutions for veteran-focused fraternal organizations and clubs, making a positive impact in veterans’ lives has been in Card Lock’s DNA for over 70 years. Today, many eligible veterans never apply for the benefits and compensation they are entitled to—which is why we encourage all veterans to visit Veterans Guide, a comprehensive online resource to help you obtain all of the benefits you are owed for your service.
