Two decades ago, on September 11, 2001, many lost their lives to the 9/11 attacks on our country. In tribute to those killed and injured on that day, to the first responders, and the countless others who serve to defend the nation’s freedom at home and around the globe, Patriot Day was established.
Patriot Day serves as a reminder to help others, honor our heroes, and stand together in tribute to all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. On this day, the President requests that the American flag be flown at half-staff at individual American homes, at the White House, and on all U.S. government buildings and establishments, home and abroad. The President also asks Americans to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 A.M. (Eastern Daylight Time), the time the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
This year, Patriot Day marks the 20th Anniversary of that tragic day. Join us as Card Lock Company embraces the spirit of unity by observing moments of silence throughout the day.
